Hot Strawberry White Chocolate
Okay here we go! I know you’re supposed to ramble at the beginning of these to claim creative writing for copyright purposes or whatnot so lets do some of that.
It was sweet! Was the first thing she thought to herself when she lowered the cup from her lips. Olvido hadn’t had sweet things in years. Not since- She pressed her lips together and glanced up at the the grinning shop owner.
“Just the thing?” they asked, a knowing light twinkling in their eyes.
Olvido kept her eyes firmly turned away as she nodded vigorously.
Warm
And sweet with vanilla and berries
Like indulgence
Like being found
A folded slip of paper was pushed into view.
“Here, before you go” The shop keep’s voice was low and soft, a gift, just between them.
Olvido ran her thumb along the seam of the paper before pushing it into the folds and letting the note fall open:
For a serving of 1
- 3/4 Cup 2% Milk
- 3 oz White Chocolate Chips
- 9 Medium Strawberries Diced
Put your chocolate chips in a mug and set aside.
In a microwave safe bowl, place your diced strawberries and cook for 2 minutes or until your strawberries become soft and syrupy.
In a second microwave safe container, boil the milk. Immediately pour the hot milk over the white chocolate and let sit for 1 minute. Stir the white chocolate and milk together until fully combined.
Place your boiled strawberries into a strainer bag and squeeze the strawberry juice out into the white chocolate mixture. Stir to combine. Place the mug in the microwave and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove before the milk boils over. Stir to finish chocolate and milk combination.
Let cool and enjoy.
